Dear Editor: “School choice.”
Two simple words that together conjure up big, vague ideas of educational freedom. They suggest we don’t have choice in education—but we do. These are public (ISDs, charters) and private (which includes homeschooling and various alternatives).
There's no definition of “school choice” until legislators write the bills, and now they have: Texas’ Senate Bill 2 and House Bill 3.
