Ann Moore Johnson passed away on February 27, 2025 at her home in Lampasas surrounded by loved ones. She was born on September 4, 1937 to W.T. and Cora Moore. Ann lived a rich and blessed life. She grew up on the family ranch and learned the value of hard work, humility, and resilience. She enjoyed the wide open spaces with her two sisters as playmates. During that time she developed a true passion for ranching.
Ann had a personality that lit up the room and a smile that warmed the heart. Living out in the country never slowed her down as she was involved in every aspect of high school. She was loved by everybody which is evident in the fact that she was voted class favorite three of the four years of high school. She was runner-up the fourth year.
Ann married Dick Johnson, her high school sweetheart, and they were married 64 years. They first lived in the Mt. Pleasant area and their first son was born there. They then moved to Eastland, Tx and where the other 2 sons were born. The boys were taught by example and they shared a home full of joy and laughter. In Eastland she worked for Eastland National Bank until her retirement after 32 years. After retirement she and Dick moved back to Lampasas and ranching. Ann loved her cattle and many of them had names. She cared for them up until a few months ago. She was passionate about the land and its preservation. She spent many a day sitting in her skid steer taking out her personal vendetta on cedar and mesquite trees.
