EASTLAND COUNTY – Texas Department of Transportation’s contractor recently began a resurfacing project on I-20 which spans from mile marker 340 (just east of CR 306) to mile marker 349 (just west of Ranger). The project is approximately 9 miles long and will result in a new surface pavement of durable hot mix in this area.
During this work, motorists should expect daily eastbound travel lane closures from mile marker 342 to 349, and possible delays. Truck WUDIF HVSHFLDOO RYHUsized loads, should seek an alternate route due to permit restrictions of 11-foot maximum vehicle width. This phase of construction, performing pavement repairs, is anticipated to be complete by May 1, 2025, weather permitting. Various entrance and exit ramp closures should also be expected during this time; however, only one entrance and one exit ramp will be closed at a time. Ramp closures will be limited to daytime working hours and reopened WR RYHULJKW WUDIF$Gvanced warning message boards will be placed ahead of these closures to warn motorists.
Westbound lanes from mile marker 349 to mile marker 342, the next phase of the project, will consist of the same pavement repair work with lane and exit/entrance ramp closures, beginning March 1, weather and progress permitting.
