In September 2024 our library won the Texas Book Festival Grant. This grant is provided by The Texas Book Festival committee.
“The Texas Book Festival is one of the nation’s premier annual literary events. It is hosted every fall in downtown Austin. It features over 250 author’s of the year’s best books and attracts 40,000 book lovers.
The Texas Book Festival provides grants to public libraries throughout texas, including rural and underserved communities.” (from https:// texasbookfestival.org/) With this grant we were able to purchase 151 books for the children’s area. These books include picture books, graphic novels, beginning chapter books, chapter books and young adult books. The books have been added to the library throughout the months of October - December.
