Erin Mayes, Program Director for Eastland County Crisis Center, and Samantha Guthrie, Victim Services/Forensic Interviews, spoke to Ranger Lions Club recently about the center, who it assists and the services offered.
Lion Derrick Saucedo, host of the program, introduced Ms. Mayes and Ms. Guthrie by saying it is good to remember the resources and help available in Eastland County.
Eastland County Crisis Center is an umbrella organization, Ms. Mayes explained, which includes the Crime Victim Assistance Center and the Children’s Advocacy Center. The Center’s mission statement for the CVAC is to “provide services designed to meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of domestic violence and sexual assault victims by providing immediate, short, and long-term assistance.” The Children’s Advocacy Center strives to “serve as the voice of justice, hope and healing for children and to provide a warm, caring atmosphere where their healing process can begin.”
