Members of Eastland County Retired Teachers and visitors met Monday, February 10, 2025 a 11:30 in the fellowship hall of Cisco Methodist Church. Attendees carried in bundles and baskets of items for the annual scholarship auction. The auction was initiated many years ago by the late Fred Tucker in order to raise monies for scholarships for a student from Cisco, Eastland, Gorman, Ranger, and Rising Star who will attend either Cisco College or Ranger College. Presently scholarships are awarded each year.
Gail Norris, President five five-hundred dollar of ECRT, then introduced Lee Yaddow and his wife, Ginny. Lee is a professional auctioneer who has held the auction for ECRT for many years and was assisted by his assistance, for many years, was Fred Tucker, always adding his own remarkable humor and comments.
The auction was met with smiles, laughter, and genuine camaraderie.
