Cisco Writers Club is hosting an informal table reading at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 2, in the Conrad Hilton Center, 309 Conrad Hilton Blvd., Cisco. Along with Texas Independence we'll celebrate our 48 years of 'Helping writers where they are.' That's to say, we invite you to spend a very special evening with us!
An informal table reading is a vocal dramatization of a screenplay, often done before filming begins. Cisco Writers Club, in conjunction with Cisco College, is doing it just for fun, and it certainly is shaping up to be that.
Lorie A. Woodward's screenplay is based on Elmer Kelton's 1950s story, The Time It Never Rained. There are 24 entertaining characters in the part we'll read, and it's been a blast to recruit club members and area residents to fill those roles.
