The Gorman Lady Panthers turned in a sensational effort this past weekend at the Brownwood Holiday Classic. The Lady Panthers went 3-1 in the tournament and finished second in the small-school division standings.
The Lady Panthers’ only setback in the tournament came on Saturday in the championship game. Class 2A Ozona hit a shot late in the affair and escaped with a narrow 35-33 comefrom- behind victory.
In the finals, Gorman got off to a quick start. The Lady Panthers opened the contest with an impressive 12-7 run in the first 8 minutes of play. Ozona rallied in the second, staging a 10-2 run to take a 17-14 lead into the break.
