Kyndall Scitern pumped in 24 points and Delila Crain added 14 more last week and powered the Gorman Lady Panthers to an impressive 66-20 victory over the Priddy Lady Pirates in the Area round of the Class 1A girl’s state basketball playoffs.
With the victory, the Lady Panthers improved to 32-3 and, more importantlyearned the right to face off with Richland Springs in the regional quarterfinals on Tuesday in Comanche. The winner of the Gorman-Richland Springs matchup will advance to play either Throckmorton or Dodd City in the regional semifinals.
The Lady Panthers removed much of the mystery as to the game’s outcome in the first quarter. Gorman pounded out a decisive 26-7 run in the first eight minutes.
