Helen Elizabeth Medford Obituary

Carbon - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Elizabeth Medford, affectionately known as Liz, who peacefully left this world on December 27, 2024, at the age of 96. Born on June 1, 1928, in Ranger, Texas, Liz was the beloved daughter of Jasper and Sallie (Ashcraft) Rogers. She graduated from Ranger High School and later married the love of her life, Bob Medford, on September 11, 1948. Together, they embarked on a beautiful journey, establishing their home on the family farm in Carbon, Texas, where they created a lifetime of cherished memories.

Liz and Bob shared a deep bond that lasted 68 wonderful years until his passing on June 21, 2016. Together, they worked side-by-side on the farm, where Liz was not only her husband's right-hand person but also the heart of their home. Known for her exceptional cooking, she delighted family and friends with her famous Chicken Fried Steak and many other culinary creations. Her talents extended beyond the kitchen; as a gifted seamstress, she crafted beautiful clothing for her daughters, often transforming ideas into reality with love and creativity.

Liz took great pride in her garden, nurturing every plant with care, and her yard flourished under her green thumb, becoming a testament to her nurturing spirit. She was a true matriarch, and her legacy will live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
