Ranger High School football fans can relate in many ways to what the Whiteface Antelopes faced last week in the Class A Division I sixman football state football championship.
Chasing Gordon.
Gordon rolled up 340 total yards on just 16 offensive plays from scrimmage on Wednesday and cruised to a 64-24 victory over Whiteface in front of a large crowd at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. Nine of Gordon’s total plays went for touchdowns, including the game-winner on the first play of the second half. Gordon junior Stryker Reed scored on a 45-yard run just seconds into the third quarter to enforce the six-man football 45-point mercy rule and hand Gordon its second straight state title.
