Tea Party Patriots of Eastland County will have Nancy Stewart, the Eastland Memorial Hospital District (EMHD) Board President, speaking on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 6:30 pm at the Myrtle Wilks Community Center in the Big Dam room. Doors open at 6 pm. The Hospital District proposes expansion from city to county. The Eastland Memorial Hospital(EMH) is the only hospital in Eastland County. There are 3,862 people in the city of Eastland and 18,360 people in the county. The hospital has served community since 1952. The hospital’s Board of Directors seeks to ensure our county residents have access to quality local healthcare by safeguarding the stability of our county’s only hospital system. The expansion of the hospital district will be on the May 3, 2025, election ballot. Expansion would allow Eastland County citizens outside of the current district to join in supporting EMH through the governance of the hospital and through a small property tax—— investments that directly contribute to maintaining and enhancing local healthcare services. Nancy Stewart is a native of Eastland County and has served on the board of EMHD since 2013.
