Fred Allen Walker, a devoted family man, hard worker, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully at his home on October 26, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on October 29, 1940 in Gorman, Texas. He joined the military out of high school. Fred was known for his unwavering dedication to his family, his faith, and his work. Fred built an impressive career in the oil and gas industry, where he was highly regarded for his expertise and leadership. He worked as a pipeline superintendent for Delhi before retiring as Vice President of Applied Consultants. His contributions to the industry left a lasting impact, and he earned the deep respect and admiration of his colleagues. A long-time member of Whitehouse First Baptist Church, Fred served as a deacon, exemplifying his strong commitment to his faith and community. His kindness and devotion touched many lives, as did his integrity and strength of character. He took immense pride in the life he built and found true joy in being surrounded by his loved ones. Fred married his beloved wife, Delores, on May 20, 1960. She was the light of his life and his unwavering partner for nearly 65 years. Together, they raised two daughters, Malli and Marla, who were his pride and joy. He cherished his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather, finding happiness in time spent with his grandchildren. Fred leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and faith. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His family finds comfort in the many memories shared and in the knowledge that he is at peace. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Lillie Ann White Walker and sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Richard Robinson . He is survived by his wife, Delores; daughters Malli Stockton and husband Stacy, and Marla Cherry and husband Mike; his grandchildren, Jenni Stocks and husband Charlie, Allen Stockton and wife Jordan, Ryan Stockton, and Reid Stockton and wife Kayla, Rachel Penner and husband Travis, Macy Cherry and wife Amie; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and his "adopted son," JB "Royce" Barringer. A service to celebrate his life will be held at Whitehouse First Baptist Church on Thursday October 31st at 2pm. Visitation will be held Wednesday October 30th from 6-8 at Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Whitehouse First Baptist Church building fund, 801 E. Main Street, Whitehouse, TX 75791 (https://firstw.org/give). Tommy Kirkpatrick, Jerry Fitch, Tom Tatum, Mike Cherry, Stacy Stockton, Don Butler, Don Branam, JB Barringer, and Lynn White will serve as honorary pallbearers. Allen Stockton, Ryan Stockton, Reid Stockton, Jim Dudley, Dave Johnson, and Charlie Stocks will serve as pallbearers. A special thank you to all the caregivers at Garden Estates Assisted Living, Enhabit Home Health, and his many doctors and nurse practitioners.
