EASTLAND, TX — The Nancy Seaberry Frost Arts Endowment (NSF Arts) is celebrating 25 years of making music throughout rural Texas. Generous friends of music have made possible hundreds of music scholarships for school children and concerts for schools and communities.
Marking the milestone anniversary year NSF Arts has awarded grants to The Lyric Theatre ($5000), Siebert Elementary Music Program ($5000), and the Eastland Centennial Memorial Library ($5000). Fourteen area music students were awarded scholarships totaling $7000 to study music in the current school year. Additionally Program Grants have been awarded to the Abilene Philharmonic and the Mid-Texas Symphony in support of Educational outreach programs for students. NSF Arts provided sponsorship to the first annual Majestic Theatre fundraiser event, “Night at the Grammys”.
The Nancy Seaberry Frost Arts Endowment was established in 1999 in honor of violinist Nancy Seaberry Frost from Eastland. The foundation’s scholarship program is named for noted music teacher Wilda Dragoo who taught music in the 1930s and 40s to several thousand children of the Great Depression era.
