By Tommy Wells The Eastland Mavericks postseason hopes took a blow on Friday as the Brady Bulldogs nabbed a sunning 47-7 victory in front of a large crowd at Maverick Stadium. Brad7y reeled off 28 first-half points and then held on to cnare the victory.
With the loss, the Mavericks dipped to 3-4 for the season and, more important, slipped to 0-2 in District 5-3A action. The loss was Eastland’s third straight setback and leaves the Mavs tied with Early and Dublin for fourth in the team standings. The loss also leave Eastland two games behind Tolar, Brady and Clifton in the standings with just three weeks left in the regular season.
Brady did most of its damage early against the Mavericks. The Bulldogs scored once in the first quarter, and then tacked on three more touchdowns in the second.
