Alberta “Cookie” James needs our help. She had to close her antique/consignment business when the construction project had to remove the sidewalk on the northwest side of the intersection of 36 & 183. There was simply no other way to access her business. She hadn’t reopened when the flood came through in May 2024. She had 12-18 inches of water inside her business. She has applied to two different relief funds but was denied because she hasn’t been open in the last 3 years. She hadn’t reopened yet because she was a full-time caretaker to a family friend. Then in early October 2024 the brick front crumbled at the top. As the bricks fell, they broke the awning.
Cookie needs our help through donations that she will be using to get in and assess the water damage and begin repairs. This is a financial task she is unable to achieve without our help. Eveiy simple dollar you can spare will be much appreciated. Even $1 or $5. You can donate at First Financial Bank. Stop in and just mention Alberta “Cookie” James. Our great tellers will know what to do from there. Your help is much appreciated. Please help spread the word. We all want to see some improvements around town and this is a way you can help.
