All Things Subplot
A subplot is a secondary plot that’s not necessary for the main plot to make sense but adds interest and depth to the overall story. For example, let’s say the main plot is about a hardnosed detective, Anthony, who goes after a serial cat burglar. The subplot could be Anthony trying to reconcile with his angry, younger brother. They got along great as kids but went their separate ways as adults.
