Julius Proffitt passed for 143 yards and two touchdowns and Cody Gayle rushed for two scores on Friday and en route to powering the Cisco Loboes to a convincing 56-14 victory over the Merkel Badgers.
With the win, Cisco improved to 4-1 for the season. Merkel slipped to 0-5.
Cisco, which also garnered 115 yards rushing from Dillon Silva, put Merkel on its heels quickly. The Loboes scored three quick touchdowns in the first quarter and raced to a 21-0 lead. Proffit closed out the first quarter by rushing for a touchdown that put the Loboes up 28-0 at the start of the second. The Loboes stretched their lead to 35-0 at the half with a second-quarter score.
