Lyric Art Center Carries on The Outdoor Art Museum Legacy

Cathi Ball, a local artist and arts educator, began the Outdoor Art Museum when she, Norman Logan, Eastland High School art students, and volunteers painted a 210 big can of soup. While anything overly small or large is exciting and eye-catching, this giant can of Campbellā€™s tomato soup is based on Pop Art silkscreen prints by Andy Warhol.

The original mission of the Outdoor Art Museum was to offer art history to a small community that has no permanent facility for art education and to expand our visual literacy to familiar images in our culture by placing educational sites throughout town.
