Cathi Ball, a local artist and arts educator, began the Outdoor Art Museum when she, Norman Logan, Eastland High School art students, and volunteers painted a 210 big can of soup. While anything overly small or large is exciting and eye-catching, this giant can of Campbellās tomato soup is based on Pop Art silkscreen prints by Andy Warhol.
The original mission of the Outdoor Art Museum was to offer art history to a small community that has no permanent facility for art education and to expand our visual literacy to familiar images in our culture by placing educational sites throughout town.
