James Coughlin and Kaiden Cuellar both rushed for more than 100 yards and scored multiple times on Friday night en route to handing the Ranger Bulldogs a historic victory in front of a large Homecoming crowd at O.C. Warden Stadium. The Bulldogs’ 50-0 shutout of the Cranfills Gap Lions was Ranger’s first-ever victory as a UIL varsity six-man football program.
The win was also a bit of good karma for Ranger.
After being victimized by more than a dozen turnovers in their first three games, the RHS defense forced the Lions to commit five turnovers, including a 26-yard pass interception by Coughlin to fed a 32-0 second-quarter barrage.
