Coach Rizzio and Staff Seek to Develop Composed, Disciplined Football Players

(Editor’s Note: This is Part 2 of an interview with new Head Football Coach Charlie Rizzio of Cisco College. The first part of the story was published on Sept. 12.

Cisco College’s new Head Football Coach, Charlie Rizzio, had a big adjustment to make when he came to West Texas 10 years ago as a Graduate Assistant Coach at West Texas A&M in Canyon.

He was born and grew up in Seymour, Connecticut, quite a contrast from Seymour, Texas, a town he often drove by on recruiting trips for WT. “I went from spending 30 years of my life in the Northeast, with four of them being at college in Massachusetts, to tumbleweeds, and raining mud, so that was quite a culture shock,” he said. “But I’m used to it now. I enjoy a smalltown community.”
