It is with heavy hearts that the family of William James “Bill” Belding announces his passing on July 26, 2024, in Mineral Wells, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Cityview Community Church in Mineral Wells, with Chris Snow
officiating. The family will welcome friends for a visitation on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at the church, from 6 – 8 p.m., under the direction of Melton Kitchens Funeral Home Staff.
Bill was born in Breckenridge, Texas, on September 12, 1936, to parents William and Melrose Wagley-Belding. Bill lived his entire life in the community. Outside of his 21 years with Lone Star Gas Company, his love was his acreage and working the ranch. His deep appreciation for the land and all the responsibilities that came along with that was what he lived for until his body would not allow it anymore; in his spare time, he would take random pieces of wood from the ranch and create a treasure. He also loved a good game of chess and his church family at PK Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Lynn Getts Belding; his parents, Will Jim Belding, and Melrose Wagley Belding; his sons, David James Belding and William Henry Belding, and his grandson, William Justin Belding, and his grandson, Philip Matthew Belding.
He is survived by his son Douglas Belding and wife Lisa; stepson Ron L Moore and wife Janice of South Carolina, grandson Gregory Belding; and granddaughters Kelley Nicole Belding, Miranda Paige Belding, and Reagan Leigh Belding.
Memorials can be made to the Phillip Matthew Belding Warrior Scholarship and may be left at the Melton Kitchens Funeral Home. Condolences may be made on meltonkitchens. com
