To promote the best possible learning and social environment in the classrooms and schools of Eastland ISD, students will adhere to the guidelines listed below during the school day. The intent of the cell phone policy is to limit access and use of cell phones to avoid distractions from learning and the loss of instructional time. To keep the focus on academics, reduce unnecessary distractions and incidents of cyberbullying, the school enforces the following:
• Cell phones and all mobile devices such as smart watches and ear buds shall be TURNED OFF when entering school campus from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on instructional days except in extreme cases such as for pre-approved medical reasons.
• Cell phones and all mobile devices such as smart watches and ear buds shall be TURNED OFF on morning and afternoon bus routes to and from school.• Cell phones and all mobile devices such as smart watches and ear buds shall be kept in a student’s backpack or locker – not in clothing pockets.• Cell phones and all mobile devices such as smart watches and ear buds are not allowed to be used in a classroom, library, common areas, or restrooms.• Cell phones and all mobile devices such as smart watches and ear buds can be turned back on at the end of school bell and used to communicate directly with parents/ friends who are assisting in transportation.
