In a blend of personal history and artistic vision, Tyler Clement has turned a sentimental photoshoot into a homage to his roots and a celebration of his craft. Recently, Tyler showcased a dress made from old editions of Eastland County Today, where his late mother worked as an editor and ad designer. This unique concept not only paid tribute to his mother’s legacy but also encapsulated the essence of Clement Portraits, Tyler’s premium photography studio based in Cisco, TX.
Growing up, Tyler’s life was intertwined with the world of newspapers. He grew up going on the “paper route” and spending time at the newspaper office with his mom. This recent photoshoot featured Amy O’Brien-Glenn, whose father, H.V., is the publisher of the newspaper. Tyler and Amy have both had this newspaper as part of their life for a long time. ”Creating art with meaning and purpose is what it’s all about for me,” Tyler reflects.
Tyler’s journey into photography began with documenting events for the newspaper during his high school years. He honed his skills through photography books and college courses while studying graphic design. He ended up going a different direction with his professional life. However, the passing of his mother in 2018 from cancer became a pivotal moment in his life, prompting him to reassess his career path.
