A Simple Formula for Writing a Meditative or Spiritual Piece

If you have grown through meditative or spiritual practices, you are qualified to write about your experience. Here’s a simple, four-step formula for writing a meditation or a devotional.

First, narrow down your meditative practice, your Scripture verse, or your spiritual practice to a specific topic. Have you alleviated your anxiety by walking a maze? Learned to love a difficult person through memorizing a Bible verse? Offered long- withheld forgiveness after weeks of regular prayer meetings? A sentence or two about the maze, the Bible verse, or the prayer meetings is what you’ll use to hook the reader. For example:
