Two Cisco College students from Eastland, one from Cisco, and another from Strawn received the President’s Outstanding Student Award for being the top students in their respective departments at a banquet last week on the Cisco Campus. They received medallions, certificates, and words of praise from Dr. Thad Anglin, President of Cisco College.
Jadob Harrower, son of John and April Harrower of Eastland, received the top award in Psychology (Dual Credit). He attends Eastland High School. He was nominated by Professor Terra Snyder. Her nomination mentioned that he “shows up for every class period, submits assignments on time, and is engaged in the classroom.” He plans to attend Texas Tech University in the future.
Miranda Dale of Eastland, daughter of Cecil and Christie Funderburgh of Eastland, won the award of top student in the Art Department at Cisco. She was nominated by Jodi Frizzell, chair of the Art Department. Dale had previously attended Cisco College but took about five years off. According to Professor Frizzell, “She decided she wanted to come back and pursue art to better help her in her current job (graphic design). She works full time and has a full schedule load. She schedules in-person classes during her lunch break and does online in the evening.”
