Eastland County Retired Teachers met Monday, April 8 at First Baptist Church, Eastland. President Gail Norris welcomed members and visitors. She then invited everyone to enjoy a salad luncheon.
Mrs. Morris then introduced Babshi Sputh, who spoke of the many uses of ginger. Ms. Sputh explained that ginger has been used for over 4,000 years in China and Africa. Ginger may be used for pain reflief, for cardio-vascular stimulation, as well as for use as an anti-carcinogen. She will be opening “Healing Heaven” in Cisco soon.
Those who could were then invited to meet at 1:00 p.m. April 23, at the Hilton in Cisco to place labels inside the many donated children’s books. This year the books will be donated to Cisco Elementary School. ECRT presents books to Cisco, Eastland, Gorman, Ranger, Rising Star elementary schools each year on a rotating basis. Mrs. Norris then announced that the next meeting will be May 13 at Eastland City Park. Hamburgers, the trimmings, and ice cream will be provided. In case of rain, the meeting will be held at First Baptist Church, Eastland. Retired teachers and friends of teachers are always welcome.
