The Cosmetology program at Gorman ISD had the privilege of attending the TASB Governance Camp in Galveston. The students had a booth to demonstrate how communication in a client consultation can make a difference in your hair service. With the outreach of visitors at the booth lots of conversation about community service and SkillsUSA leadership built interesting questions. While the activity continued after lunch when the conference hosted a pep rally asking the students questions of “How the cosmetology program has grown them as an them as an individual?” The students are proud of the opportunities the program offers and plan to achieve in the world of work. The Senior students concluded the conference with a presentation of how a CTSO can grow your leadership in the community. The three seniors Lauren Campbell, Ceidy Guzman and Brooke Gillen presented
their SkillsUSA District 4 community service project of Angel Tree. This group of students had an opportunity to serve families in the community by getting the community to nominate people to be blessed with gifts. The students worked to hand decorate each angel for the family that would adopt them during this time of need. All 42 angels were adopted out within two weeks and gifts returned to be handed out. This opportunity expanded their leadership skills with hard work and dedication and will allow them to persevere whatever their future career.
