Mark was born on April 14, 1950, in Billings, MT to parents, Betty and Edwin Snyder. He grew up in Fort Worth, Morgan Mill and Stephenville with sisters Isla and Pat and brothers, Tom and Chuck. In February 1972, Mark married Cyretha Ann Nelson. After residing in Granbury and Alvarado, Cyretha and Mark moved to Eastland in 1979 where they raised their three children, Kay, Chris and Gina. In 2005, Cyretha and Mark moved back to Stephenville.
In addition to being a great husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, he was a great friend. He had a sneaky sense of humor and a special talent for storytelling. He had an entrepreneurial spirit owning and operating three businesses in three industries: home construction, oilfield services and scrap metal recycling. He was incredibly smart and could teach himself to do anything and everything, including playing guitar and golf, winning at the craps table, accounting for his businesses, cooking delicious jambalaya, repairing cars and woodworking to name a few. There really wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. Mark’s favorite hobby was fly fishing which he learned as a young boy from his Grandpa Kolstad.
Mark passed away on January 13, 2024, in Stephenville. He is survived by his wife, Cyretha, children, Kay, Chris and Gina, grandchildren, Piper, Ella and Jackson, sisters Isla and Pat and brother Chuck.
