Texas House RINO’s at War with Republican Senate and Governor
Texas has a Republican trifecta. The Republican Party controls the governor’ s office, the Texas House of Representatives, and the Tex as Senate.
During the 2023 Legislative session the Texas House, under the lead ership of Speaker Dade Phelan, seemed to go out of its way to oppose the conservative agenda proposed by Governor Abbott. At the end of the regular session, the House had failed to act on key legislation important to Texans, including border security, school choice, teacher pay raises, and ending Covid restrictions and vaccine mandates. This made it necessary for the governor to call a special legislative session. Foot-dragging by the House eventually made it necessary to ultimately have four special sessions.
