Comptroller Distributes Sales Tax Revenue to Local Governments

Rising Star Shows Increase

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar has announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for January, 3.3 percent more than in January 2023.

These allocations are based on sales made in November by businesses that report tax monthly.

The City of Rising Star has a sales tax rate of 1.750%. Net payment this period to Ranger from the Comptroller will be $11,387.25. The comparable payment in the prior year was $10,427.05; a change of (+) 9.20%. The YTD payment (1st payment in 2024) is $11,387.25.
