Lady Mavs climb into top 25

The Eastland Lady Mavericks became the third Eastland County basketball program to crack the top 25 on Monday. The Lady Mavericks, fresh off their fourth straight win, climbed to No. 21 in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ January 22 Class 3A poll.

Now 21-5, Eastland joins Cisco (No. 14 in Class 2A) and Gorman (No. 13 in Class 1A) in the rankings.

Eastland isn’t the only team from their district to be in the rankings. Brock and Comanche – who are both tied with Eastland atop the District 8-3A standings with 8-1 records – also cracked the poll.
