The Gorman Lady Panthers went a long way in helping themselves secure a favorable playoff position on Friday by downing the state-ranked Huckabay Lady Indians, 46-32, in a key district matchup.
With the win, Gorman moved into sole possession of second place in the District 19-A race with a 3-1 mark. The Lady Panthers’ only loss in district play came to 11th-ranked Gordon.
Gorman put Huckabay on its heels quickly. The Lady Panthers outscored the Indiands by a 16-5 clip in the first quarter.
