Inauguration and Blessing of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Hall in Cisco, October 7, 2023

Saint Francis of Assisi has been quoted as saying “Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible”. The impossible for Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church became a reality with the Inauguration and Blessing of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Hall, our newly constructed Parish Hall/Activity Center at 1100 Avenue F in Cisco, on Saturday, October 7, 2023. This new construction began with a Groundbreaking Ceremony on Saturday, November 19, 2022. On that day, each parishioner received several mustard seeds, and everyone “planted” their mustard seeds in the “groundbreaking hole”. In this way, we acknowledged the parable of the mustard seed, when Christ said “It is the smallest of all the seeds, yet when full-grown it is the largest of plants. It becomes a large bush, and the birds of the sky come and dwell in its branches” (Matthew 13:32). Like the mustard seed, our increasing and expanding Christian faith grows and strengthens from small beginnings, helping us cult undertakings – like building a new Parish Hall and creating a new place of fellowship with increased opportunities to serve God in holiness and joy.

The new Parish Hall has been built on properties purchased nine years ago on the southwest corner of 11th Street and Avenue F.

Our Church, a simple frame construction, was dedicated to the Queen of the Holy Rosary on April 17, 1921, and the building that previously served as the Parish Hall was originally built as a Rectory in January 1927, at a cost of $3,450. While we still love the familiar and comfortable Parish Hall that we have used for nearly 100 years, it was time to expand and improve. The new Parish Hall is approximately 4,400 square feet in size with an inviting foyer, large kitchen area, bathrooms, walk-in pantry, and storage room.
