Old Rip’s 2nd Annual Art Competition: Testament to Rich Artistic Tapestry

Celebrating its rich cultural heritage and paying homage to the legendary horned lizard, Old Rip, the art competition is an annual event that brings together a diverse array of artists from around the region and immerses viewers into a vibrant showcase of artistic expression that matches the spirit of our charming Texan communities.

Nestled in Eastland County, the Lyric Art Center recently played host to the much-anticipated Old Rip’s 2nd Annual Art Competition. Celebrating its rich cultural heritage and paying homage to the legendary horned lizard, Old Rip, the art competition is an annual event that brings together a diverse array of artists from around the region and immerses viewers into a vibrant showcase of artistic expression that matches the spirit of our charming Texan communities.

The Old Rip Art Competition showcased not only the talents of emerging artists of all ages, but was juried by local artist, Emily Lester. Lester is a Texas Tech College of Visual and Performing Arts graduate and has a background in Graphic Design. She is currently based out of Breckenridge, Texas and is involved with the Breckenridge Fine Arts Center.
