The Gorman Lady Panthers continued to win on the hardwood last week … and to slide in the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches’ weekly rankings. The GHS girls, despite a district-opening rout of Three Way, slipped two spots in the Dec. 18 rankings to No. 6 overall.
The state did see a major change in the 1A girls’ rankings as Valley moved atop the poll for the first time. The Lady Patriots unseated Throckmorton as the state’s top squad, while Nazareth jumped two spots to the No. 2 spot.
Throckmorton, which had held the state’s top spot for two weeks, fell to fourth, one spot behind Eula. Rocksprings rounded out the top five.
