The 2023 Eastland County Pecan Show was held Dec. 1 at the County Courthouse with more entries than expected considering the summer we just came out of.
The Overall Grand Champion was a really nice Pawnee entry from DeMarquis Gordon. Mr. Gordon also had the Grand Champion in the Commercial Division as well as the 1st Place Pawnee. Overall Reserve Champion went to Clint Tucker with his Burkett entry which also was the Grand Champion in the Classic & New Division and 1st Place Burkett. The Eastland County Sheriffs Office won both Grand and Reserve Champion in the Native Division.
By variety the placings were: Burketts – 1st place Clint Tucker, 2nd place County Courthouse; Variety Seedling – 1st place Clint Tucker; Kanza – 1st place Clint Tucker; Pawnee – 1st place DeMarquis Gordon; 2nd place Clint Tucker; Western – 1st & 2nd places County Courthouse; Wichita – 1st place Clint Tucker; Native – 1st & 2nd places Sheriffs Office; 3rd place Jon Glenn; and 4th place H.V. O’Brien.
