The Eastland Mavericks might not be playing Friday night in the Class 3A state playoffs, but you can bet they will have an eye on the scoreboard.
That’s because the Mavericks are more than familiar with one of the eight remaining teams – the Jacksboro Tigers.
Jacksboro, now 130, punched its way into the quarterfinal round on Friday by grinding out a 49-48 victory over Holliday, the team that ended Eastland’s postseason outing with a 44-7 decision in the bi-district round.
