Calling all bakers! The Eastland County Pecan Pie & Delicacies Contest is Friday, December 1. Start practicing for your holiday meals or try a new recipe, show off your baking skills and you might be one of this year’s Blue-Ribbon winners. All ages are encouraged to enter this annual event sponsored by Morton Valley Extension Club and Eastland County Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. Proceeds from this event fund the 4-H scholarship fund. These delicious pies and delicacies will be sold after the judging, so baker or not, stop by the Courthouse and pick up some pecan treats and help support Eastland County 4-H students.
Categories are traditional pies, specialty pies, savory delicacies, and sweet delicacies. Please use disposable containers and include a list of ingredients, don’t forget those pecans! Bring one entry for judging, plus an extra (and as many more as you want) for the scholarship donation sale. Deliver entries to Eastland County Courthouse by 8:30 a.m. Judging will begin at 9 a.m., with the scholarship donation sale immediately afterwards in the Courthouse foyer.
