Texas Comptroller Distributes $1.2 Billion in Monthly Sales Tax Revenue: Rising Star Allocations Increase

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for November, 1.9 percent more than in November 2022.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for November, 1.9 percent more than in November 2022.

These allocations are based on sales made in September by businesses that report tax monthly and on sales made in July, August and September by quarterly filers.

The City of Rising Star has a tax rate of 1.750%. Net Payment this period for Rising Star is $10,491.66. The Comptroller’s comparable payment the prior year was $10,212.42; a +2.73% change. Year To Date payments for Rising Star were reported at $112,700.90. The prior year payment YTD was reported at $107,247.85; representing a +5.08% change.
