Justin Ceniceros is a biology professor at Cisco College who builds and repairs guitars on the side, and Kerry Hedges is a farmer and former owner of the Slowpoke cafe in downtown Cisco (now Bloom Coffee) who had a hankering to learn how to build guitars.
A conversation between Justin and Kerry in the cafe one day led to them meeting on most Sunday afternoons for the past two and a half years in Justin’s tiny workshop behind his home, practicing the art of guitar-building.
Now, their love of guitar craftsmanship has led to an enterprise that will be slowly opening in the next few months at 705 Conrad Hilton Blvd., two doors down from the cafe. Kerry will be opening up a workbench shop where members of the public can come in on a regular basis, such as Saturdays, to work on their own projects, learning not only how to build guitars but also how to play them.
