The Gorman Lady Panthers had eight eight runners place in the top 11 spots this past week and cruised to the district cross country championship. The Lady Panthers’ performance highlighted a sensational outing in which Hadli Hampton led the Gorman girls won the varsity team title, while Triston George and Emma De La Cruz won the boys’ varsity anf girls’ junior varsity races.
Hampton was without equal in the varsity girls race. She powered her way to a first-place finish. Delila Crain and Esmerelda Ervin added to Gorman’s success by taking fourth and fifth, respectively, in the girls’ standings. Kayla Falco and Mariella Rodriguez rounded out the list of GHS scoring runners. Falco was sixth overall, while Rodriguez finished seventh.
Virginia Bivens, Alina Torres and Kyndall Scitern also did well. Bivens was eighth, while Torres and Scitern placed ninth and 11th, respectively.
