Bethney Jacobs taught in Eastland public schools for six years and then taught at Cisco High School for 14 years. Now she has a new title: full-time Professor of English at Cisco College.
She just arrived at the college in August, but she already has taken on extra duties. In addition to teaching Composition and American Literature courses, she is also the new Director of the Writing Center at the library, a member of the Student Needs Committee, and a member of the Faculty Senate.
Bethney was born and grew up in Eastland, while her husband Jason Jacobs grew up in Cisco. They have lived in Cisco for 20 years. “We have strong ties to both communities,” she said. They have two grown daughters, Emma and Leah, both married and both college graduates. Emma lives in Lubbock, and she and her husband Sean have a daughter, Fern; while Leah lives in Plainview with her husband Chance.
