First Methodist Church of Eastland would like to inform you about several ministries we have begun in our church. These ministries encourage attendance from community members and provide opportunities for worship inside the church and out in the community. Here are three ministries we would like to make you aware of: 1.) Reflect & Reconnect (also known as R&R): This service takes places in the Fellowship Hall at the First Methodist Church Wednesdays and begins at 5:30pm with a free meal that is followed by worship and testimony. 2.) Youth Program (6th –12th grade): We are proud to be officially opening our newly renovated youth building and are excited to be initiating a youth program that will begin on Sunday, September 24th at 5pm. The youth will have a meal provided by the church and will be led in worship, participate in Bible studies, play video games, embark on trips, and many other exciting opportunities. Any youth in Eastland County are encouraged to participate!
3.) Youth Music Program (8th-12th): we will be initiating a youth music program that will take place on Wednesday afternoon’s following school and will begin on October 4th at 4:30pm. The program will run into the meal for R&R at 5:30pm. Our primary objective for this program is to provide youth with an opportunity to learn a new instrument (piano, guitar, drum set, bass, or vocals) and equip them with an understanding of why and how music plays an integral role in the Christian walk. We have several volunteers that will be providing private lessons, and as the student’s progress, they will begin working together in a praise band setting, allowing them to lead worship for their fellow youth as well as in Sunday services, and community events. This program will culminate in a summer music camp that will be held at our church in the Summer of 2024. No musical background is required, though it will be beneficial. Any 8th-12th grader interested in learning one of the instruments is welcome to participate.
We are excited to be providing these ministerial opportunities at our church and we pray that they will bless our community and continue to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ! God Bless!
