Keaundra Kelly and Sanaiya Morris both recorded doubledoubles on Wednesday night and helped the Ranger College Lady Rangers rally for a thrilling 5855 victory over the Temple College Lady Leopards in front of a small crowd in the Ron Butler Gymnasium in Ranger. With the win, the Lady Rangers improved to 1-2 in Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference play. Overall, RC is 7-10.
Temple grabbed the upper hand early. The Lady Leopards outscored Ranger by a 29-28 clip in the first two quarters. They tacked on a 15-11 run in the third quarter and took a 44-39 lead into the final frame. The Lady Rangers rallied for the win by outscoring Temple by a 19-1 clip in the final period.
Overall, RC had four players score into double figures in the win, including Kelly and Morris. Kelly keyed the RC win with 12 points and 12 rebounds, while Morris pitched in 10 points and 11 boards. Destinee Paulk led all Lady Rangers’ offensively with 13 points. Kayla Peoples added 10, while sophomore Emily Vidal contributed nine.
