Linda Spetter has been named Media Director of the Cisco campus of Cisco College.
She will continue in her duties as Professor of English and Communication, but she will also begin to focus more intently on providing media coverage for the Cisco campus. Linda has an extensive background in newspaper work, having been a lifestyle editor, city editor, news editor and assistant managing editor of the Abilene Reporter-News for over 10 years. She worked her way through McMurry College in the Public Relations Department, writing news stories about McMurry every week, and was editor of the McMurry campus newspaper.
In 1980, she became managing editor of the Big Spring Herald for three years. The crew she hired and trained won 42 awards, including the top prize for “General Excellence” by the West Texas Press Association, and several first-place awards from the Texas Associated Press Managing Editors Convention, WTPA, and the Harte-Hanks Corporation.
