The wait is officially over for Eastland County football enthusiasts. High school football is back.
The Eastland Mavericks and the Cisco Loboes will highlight the action in Week 1. Both squads will swing into play with plenty to prove in a couple of marquee non-district outings. Eastland will square off against perennial power Wall, while Cisco will begin the post-Hunter Long era with a matchup against Clyde.
Under new head coach Bobby Schuman, Eastland will try and end a 9-game losing streak to the Hawks, dating back to 2012. The Hawks edged out Eastland in last year’s season opener by a 4920 clip.
