Eastland shines at season-opener in Brock

The Eastland High School boys’ cross country teams kicked off the 2023 cross country season on a high note. The Mavericks had three teams place in the top 10 at the season- opening 6-Mile XC Relays in Brock on Aug. 12.

The Eastland High School boys’ cross country teams kicked off the 2023 cross country season on a high note. The Mavericks had three teams place in the top 10 at the season- opening 6-Mile XC Relays in Brock on Aug. 12.

Andrew Hicks, Miguel Hernandez and Sammy Herrera teamed to form the top squad at the relays. The trio combined for a winning time of 31 minutes and 4 seconds. Chase Clark, Glyn McCleskey and Samuel Cruz finished sixth overall with a time of 33:10. Hezahcia Patel, Jayton Wesley and Keegan Williamson also legged out a top 10 finish, taking eighth at 33:29.
