City Commission Accepts Requests/Resignation, OKs Settlement With Atmos

By HV O’Brien With all present except James Doyle, the regular meeting of the Eastland Commissioners was commenced with prayer and pledges. Public comment on any subjects not listed on the agenda was absent.

There was general approval of the minutes of July, July 31 and Aug. 2nd meetings. The financial report was read with comment of a desire for more sales tax revenue in the future possibly after the sales tax holiday.

On general agenda items: they increased by $1000 per month the contract per request presented by Genesa Camacho for the Eastland County Crisis Center. She commented that 23% of their budget goes to payroll, and mostly insurance around $30,000/ yr. Workers Maria and Calli described use of funds the Crisis center receives from the City. Richard Rossander moved to accept with Cecil Funderburgh seconding and approval of board. The commissioners regretfully accepted the resignation of Ms. Camacho from the Planning and Zoning Board.
