Millie Barrow and Amy O’Brien Glenn, of the Morton Valley EE Club, attended the annual District 8 Retreat on Tuesday , August 8 in Centerville, Texas. The Retreat was hosted by Leon County EE Association.
Seven crafts were made by all that attended. Great upscale crafts. We brought some extras back to teach the Morton Valley Club members.
Mike McBride, Leon County Extension Agent presented a program on Senior citizens falling. As you age you can lose your balance and fall. Mike told of the importance of removing items from the floor, rugs, doggie / cat toys, shoes, etc. all of which could trip you and could cause you to fall. He told of the importance of exercising to keep your legs strong, as you tend to loose strength with age. There are good exercises that can be performed from sitting in a chair.
